Dario Sogmaister: "During my artistic career I created using the most disparate materials: I shaped iron, carved wood and learned from the master tankmen of Viareggio to give life to my fantasies with papier-mâché. It was the appreciation of a 'mosaic sign in Ephesus, made of stone about 3000 years ago, which struck my imagination by providing the starting point for the first mosaic in which, approaching stone by stone, I tried to depict the places where I have lived since childhood, expression of my land and my mountains. Since then I have accumulated a lot of experience, the technique has been refined, the pieces of stone have become smaller and smaller, the images more and more pregnant with details. critics helped me to grow, to create this personal method which, for the moment, remains unique.
